Off the back of our success in delivering their first Western Australian facility in Midland, OPRA Projects engaged early with Icon and negotiated an open-book tender process. Icon received full transparency through the pricing process and OPRA Projects were able to provide critical advice on value engineering and refine the methodology of the build. This offered Icon best value for money and savings on their programme, ensuring the project met their budget and timing requirements.
The LARU commissioned class 9a hospital included reception and waiting area, staff and patient amenities, offices, pharmacy, and various treatment and procedure rooms consisting of specialist medical equipment. Installed equipment included a three level patient lift, Nurse Call systems, generators, medical gases and a linear accelerator radiation machine with associated control rooms.
Since the project also commenced during the final stages of the base-build, works were coordinated around the base-building contractors and during the completion of their base building smoke management system. A high level of stakeholder and contract management was required.
