Rio Tinto is a leading international mining group that is one of the largest Iron Ore producers in Western Australia.
The Perth-based Operation Centre within the Perth Airport precinct required a refresh to bring it up to speed with new technology and modern yet flexible fit-for-purpose workspaces to accommodate future operations.
Project Management by CBRE, OPRA Projects were engaged as the Head Contractor to complete the refurbishment, which was to be completed in a live operating environment with conditions of a Rio Tinto mine site, including Rio’s current induction and COVID-19 screening process.
The scope of works comprised demolishing the existing fit-out across all three floors of both OB1 and OB2 and constructing a new built form including new IT/AV, meeting rooms, and carpet. High stakeholder engagement and OH&S practices were critical in the completion of the project.
