Murdoch University required the demolition and reconfiguration of existing arts laboratories into two new main teaching spaces, with adjoining corridor and classrooms.
The first laboratory is a Fine Arts space with dedicated lighting, curtaining and privacy screening; designed for gaming and software development. The second laboratory included central collaborative spaces for research projects.
Both spaces, incorporating new flush and perforated acoustic ceilings, have linear and directional lighting. The low finished slab height required careful coordination of lighting and mechanical systems to allow maximum height in the room and full operation of movable track lighting.
The project, delivered on a challenging programme, required a high level of stakeholder management.
